Funerals

Funerals and grief are hard in the best of circumstances and we know that the restrictions on travel, funeral attendance and options available as a result of COVID-19 make this time even more difficult.

At the moment

- We can only have a maximum of 30 people (bubble dependant) present at the church service.

- Immediate family only can follow the coffin.

- No congregational singing but music is allowed.

- We can offer live broadcast and recording of the service alongside visual tributes on request.

We’ll always be here to help you. A Church of England funeral is available to everyone, giving support before, during and after the service, for as long as it’s needed. You can find out more information, light a virtual candle here.

For up to date guidance on funerals from the Church of England and frequently asked questions you may find this link helpful. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with Reverend Becky if you would like to talk through anything..

If you are unable to attend a funeral of someone you love, resources have been created to help you remember and participate from home. You can follow along using many of the words said at the service whilst at home and perhaps light a candle. You could do this at home and/or virtually. Perhaps share it on social media and encourage others to join you.
