Knowing Jesus,
Growing in God’s love
Sharing it with all
This exciting new initiative will be running from Advent through to Easter.
It will be a time for us to explore and discover new things about prayer - for example how or where we pray. There will be opportunities for interactive prayer, either in person or online.
There will also be activities which you can be involved with - see links below.
Come and join us as we walk on this journey of discovery together.…
- AMAZING ANGELS - Angels come in many forms, those that pass as humans (Hebrews 13:2) to the astounding supernatural being described by Daniel (Daniel 10:6). As part of our forthcoming Prayer Expedition, we’d like to share Angels of various sorts with our community during Advent. If you would like a ‘making’ project as the nights get longer and would like to knit, crochet or make an Angel in some other way (wooden peg), then please contact Ali Scott (01487 832478 / 07506411507) for patterns and inspiration! The angels are knitted using double knitting weight yarn or its equivalent e.g., two strands of 4 ply held double or as in the original pattern (DROPS Design Christmas Cherub) one strand of mohair and one strand of 4 ply. We have been gifted a selection of flesh tone yarn for those you might want to use them. We’re thinking of them being 10-18cms high - so they could be hung on a Christmas Tree. Ali has a supply of white wool if anyone needs some. The angels can be knitted in the round as in the original pattern or flat (back and forward) depending which method you prefer. There are instructions for both methods; please check you have the correct one before you start. As we make these, it is also an opportunity to pray for the individuals, families or groups (schools, businesses, and clubs) in our community.
